In-House Stocking Fabrics

Choose fabric from my studio supply and receive 20% of the basic stocking price ($9.00)! Here is some of what is available, I've also paired them with some fun trims:

These are five different Christmas fabrics we ordered from NYC, the two on the end are vintage ornaments and dots-so cute!

Here is some tone on tone black and white, you can choose any thread color for the name to add a splash of color!

A cute pink floral with white for the contrast.

Some creams, purples and greens...pom-poms make everything fun!

These bright polka dots would be great for a patchwork stocking.

Stripes and polka dots make this black/multi-colored stocking retro fun!

Chocolate brown, red and green with flowers.

A New Look!

As someone who design and creates items for mostly others, I often don't have much time left over for personal projects. It's sort of like the plumber with the leaky faucet or the contractor that needs a new roof. Our family owned a hardware store and lumberyard when I was growing up and we always had needed repairs around our house. It was never a question of having a capable hand or the right materials....just the time!

Time is a precious commodity in all of our lives, so after having this fabric for over a year, I was glad to finally hang these curtains in my family room.

Now, if I can just find the time to finish the coordinating pillows for the sofa....

About 16" from the bottom, I added some red ribbon....accessorizing the curtains is always fun :-).

I like having a little "ruffle" at the top!

Aiden's Stocking

Randy has had the privelge of working with some great people at the fire department and four of them have welcomed new babies to their families within the last four months! One in particular has just been promoted to captain (he had a great captain to train under :-)!) and he and his wife are huge KU fans. We decided to add to their family collection of Jayhawk treasures with a stocking for their first baby.

Ofcourse, I wanted to add blue pom poms for the trim, but Randy suggested the ribbon instead....maybe they will have a girl next, bring on the pom poms!

Milan's Stocking!

My cousin had a beautiful baby girl, Milan, in April and I was excited to put together this stocking for her. This was my first attempt at crazy quilting and I thoroughly enjoyed it....though I told mom it looks easier than it really was :-)! Since I generally make clothing, I thought my first attempt in quilting would be avoiding having to make perfect corners....mission accomplished, with a whole lot of fun too!

Headbands!

Here is one of the new headbands I have been working on!

They are super comfortable and stylish, made of ribbon and kept securely in place with elastic. Starting at just $10.00, I can't seem to make them fast enough as they are flying out of here! Look for new styles to be coming soon!!

A New Dress

I know, I know, it's been forever since I blogged. My deepest apologies and regrets. Ok, now that I have that off my chest here is a new dress I just finished.....

This has been one of my favorite fabrics for aprons and I thought I would use the last remaining yardage I had for a dress. I plan on using the larger leftover pieces to make a dress for Ashlynn. Anyway, I'm off to sew, sew sew!

By the way, I made the necklace, just a fun little hobby I have been tinkering with. I've made a few, so I'll try to post pictures when I get a chance.

Baby Pillow

Here is the latest from the studio. Just a little pillow I made as a gift for one of Randy's coworkers. I whipped up some yo-yos, embroidered the name and date and made my own piping. It was a fun little project to watch come together!
